When the old library was closed in 2011, local people campaigned and secured the use of the ground floor of the new purpose-built block that stands on the site of the old library at 152 Olive Road. The vision is to re-establish a secular meeting place for the diverse local community and space for local groups to use and a community cafe where people can meet.
Ashford Place Community Centre
60 Ashford Road, Cricklewood, London NW2 6TU
The Community Centre at Ashford Place provides vital services for the community: primarily the homeless, but for people of all ages, especially older people and those particularly affected by dementia. Ashford Place, formerly the Cricklewood Homeless Concern, has emerged as a beacon in the community, led by Danny Maher and his team, plus the help of many volunteers. It is thanks to them and others and that yoga has become part of the Ashford Place FIT & WELL programme.
